Have you ever heard a leader speak after a great accomplishment? Who does he usually contribute his success to? When a leader succeeds at something he will typically give recognition to his ââ¬Ësecond man.ââ¬â¢ Why is this true? This is true because the ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢ is the one that carries out the orders of the leader. He is the one that backs up the leader in decisions, and aids in communicating the leaderââ¬â¢s vision to other constituents. The ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢ can ââ¬Ëmake or breakââ¬â¢ a leader. A ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢ with enough influence could even in some cases undermine the leader. The ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢ is a vital determining factor in the success of the leader. He is responsible to ââ¬Ëmake things happen.ââ¬â¢ He is often referred to as the ââ¬Ëright-hand man.ââ¬â¢ The leader sets the vision; the ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢ brings the vision to reality. He is called dynamically to servant hood. He is the man will cause the success of the leader. In the following essay I will show you the following things concerning the ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢: (1) case studies of the ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢ found in Scripture; (2) the roles and responsibilities of the ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢; (3) the responsibility of the leader to the ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢; (4) the path of a ââ¬Ësecond manââ¬â¢.
